I believe in one God who is of three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three persons are coeternal, coexistent, and increate and have neither beginning nor end, because God, three in one, is the beginning and the end. God is supremely good, supremely just, supremely righteous, supremely love and is the highest standard of such because God supremely is. God is the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Creator and Sustainer of all things in Heaven and on Earth. By the power of God’s Word, He spoke into nothing and existence had it’s being. He formed Man out of the dust of the earth, gave to him His breath of life, and moral law. Through one man sin entered into the world through disobedience of God's Law, which was an act of rebellion to God. Humanity, in its innate sinful state, has need of a Savior. It is not through the workings of a law that humanity can be justified nor saved, but only God can save and Him alone. For God is supremely just and righteous, He must punish sin with the cup of His wrath, the consequences being death. For God is supremely good and love, He sent His one and only begotten Son, not created, Jesus Christ and was made sin for humanity, drank the full cup of the Father’s wrath, shed His blood upon a cross, died at the hands of Pontius Pilate, He was crucified, dead and then buried. By the Power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus rose again from the dead three days later, and paid the penalty of death through the shedding of His blood, and brought redemption and salvation to all of Humanity to those who believe by faith. Faith in Jesus’ blood results in justification, which is our legal standing before God, the Judge of the world, as righteous, not of our own works, but faith in Christ and His righteousness imputed in our lives as a free gift by the riches of God’s grace. God’s grace does not end in justification, but continues on in sanctification, adoption as Children of God, and glorification through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We, together as believers worldwide, are now the Church and Bride of Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Church and the Bridegroom. We eagerly await His return to this earth to take up with Him, His elect, chosen people where Christ will reign for all eternity. We, as a Church, will persevere and hope through joys and sufferings until the fullness of God’s glory and purposes have been fully manifested and completed. Amen.

Some say it's old, some say it's new, I say it's truth. Right Regina?
So for one of my classes I had to write a creed. Yes. A Creed. Like the Apostle's Creed, The Creed of Nicaea, The Constantinople Creed, Oriental Creed, Creed of Caesarea, etc. etc. and/or (whatever)
The Athanasian Creed, also known as, The Nicene Creed or The Creed of 150 Fathers of Constantinople.
Anyway, here's my creed, a statement of my Faith.
I call it:
The Josephenisian Creed, also known as, The Josene Creed or The Creed of Joseph Sk....okay here it is.

ReplyDeleteOn the subject of "one God who is of three Persons;"
I recommend this video:
The Human Jesus
Take a couple of hours to watch it; and prayerfully it will aid you in your quest for truth.

Dear Adam Pastor,
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the entire video, but the beginning portions that I did see are claiming Unitarianism as opposed to a Trinitarian Doctrine. A question regarding this was posed saying, "Is it necessary for one to believe in the Trinity for salvation?" and the answer is a clear YES. Let me explain. Unitarianism holds to the form of the heresy of Arianism claiming that God the Father is God, but Jesus is not God and the Holy Spirit simply proceeds from the Father and is not God.
There is a DEEP flaw here that will affect one's salvation because this form of doctrine simply denies the Deity of Jesus as GOD and skews their knowledge of who Jesus is. The Trinitarian Doctrine is of GREAT importance. I find it interesting that Religious Jews when reading the Shema take hold of the Truth that God is ONE. We are monotheistic indeed. However, many Jews missed the mark as is clear in Romans 9-11 of how they pursued a righteousness out of works instead of faith. Of course Jews are monotheistic, but they wouldn't understand a Trinitarian view of Monotheism, because they do not understand the Jesus as the Messiah, as God.
To claim that our God is ONE and NOT THREE persons, denies the DEITY or DIVINE nature of Jesus as fully God and fully Man. Philippians 2 makes it clear that Jesus, being of the SAME NATURE, SAME SUBSTANCE, as God, did not 'consider Himself equal with God", which is to show Christ's deep humility as He came as human flesh, not to deny or absolutely negate His deity/divinity.
The Father is God, Jesus the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God. Three persons, one God. Unitarianism fails to understand who Jesus is in this clear distinction: Jesus is BEGOTTEN and not CREATED. If the New Testament Scriptures clearly stated that Jesus was CREATED as opposed to being BEGOTTEN, then yes, Jesus would not be God, but only Man. However, the NT evidence claims that Jesus is of the SAME substance (BEGOTTEN) as God because Jesus IS God.
To give you a clearer understanding of the Trinity, I will explain as follows:
Three persons, One God. We have the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. If you were to take out 'the Holy Spirit' from this picture, then God will CEASE being GOD. If you take out the 'Son', who is Jesus, then God will CEASE being God. Likewise with the Father. All THREE PERSONS MUST, absolutely MUST, be in existence/present from eternity past to future, in order for God to be GOD.
That is why we believe in a Trinitarian God and are MONOTHEISTIC. To say that the 'Son', who is Jesus, is NOT God and only the Father is, is to truly DENOUNCE God's diety, or, God simply being God. To say that Jesus is not GOD, is claiming a heresy that says God is NOT God. This cannot simply be. All three persons MUST be God and PRESENT in order for God to be God.
This Trinitarian Doctrine is of the UTMOST importance. I'm not quite sure what the rest of the video says, but I had to stop 1/6 of the way through to clear this up.
Adam Pastor, I'm not sure if you believe in a Trinitarian God, but I assure you, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ the Messiah), and God the Holy Spirit are THREE persons, yet ONE God. Christianity is MONOTHEISTIC; however, jews that disregard the deity of Jesus, or Jesus as the Messiah period, fail to understand this picture. Old Testament Scriptures has evidence that foreshadow Trinitarian evidence. When Jesus comes into the Picture bringing the New Covenant (Testament), we see that the mysteries of God have been fulfilled through Him (Christ), which allows the believers to see a Trinitarian picture.
God bless you Adam Pastor.
